1978 “Brigadoon,” Scottsdale Community Players. Director: Kyle Lawson.

Larry played Mr. Lundie, the man who revealed the secret behind Brigadoon, in this production. It was a straight dramatic part. Since everyone was aware of Larry’s beautiful baritone, music director Joshua Missal wrote a song for him to sing at Jeanie’s wedding. It took a great deal of pleading to get the folks who owned the rights to the musical to agree to this. Eventually, they agreed, but the program had to make it clear that the song was not written by Lerner and Loewe.
